OZEV chargepoint grants

Eligible customers may receive help with installation costs.

Government EV chargepoint support is now administered by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV), although it is still commonly referred to as the OLEV grant. Current home and workplace schemes are scheduled to remain available until 31 March 2027, subject to eligibility and scheme rules.

Renters and flat owners

Eligible applicants can receive up to £500 towards one chargepoint socket, with private off-street parking required.

Residential landlords

Eligible landlords can apply for up to £500 per socket, across as many as 200 sockets over their sites.

Workplace charging

Eligible businesses, charities and public-sector organisations can apply for up to £500 per socket, across up to 40 sockets.

Grant eligibility is determined by OZEV. Complete the relevant application and approval steps before arranging grant-supported installation work.

Yes. A compatible solar-aware charger can use available surplus generation when the vehicle is plugged in. The amount of solar charging available depends on weather, household demand, system size and charger settings.

No. REST can install an EV charger as a standalone system. Solar panels and battery storage simply create more options for using self-generated energy or scheduling charging around lower-cost tariff periods.

The result depends on the vehicle battery and its onboard charging limit. A 7 kW charger can add roughly 7 kWh of energy per hour when the vehicle and electrical supply can accept the full output.

A tethered charger has its charging cable permanently attached. An untethered charger uses a removable Type 2 cable. REST will confirm the suitable product and connection type for your vehicle and property.

Yes. Duracell and Zappi systems support app-led or scheduled charging features. This can help move charging into a preferred tariff window, subject to the chosen charger, tariff and final configuration.

Yes. REST can assess suitable residential and commercial charging projects, including three-phase requirements where appropriate. The final specification depends on the electrical supply, parking layout and intended usage.
