The correct inverter depends on the whole system, not simply the brand name or headline power rating.

Solar panels produce direct-current electricity. The inverter converts that electricity into alternating current that can be used by the property, routed into a compatible battery or exported where the system allows.

A hybrid inverter can manage solar generation and compatible battery storage in one system. An AC-coupled inverter is commonly used to add battery storage to an existing solar installation without replacing the original solar inverter.
